Course Approval

Undergraduates (UG)

If your courses are approved, this means that you have met the pre-requisites for the courses. At this stage you have not successfully secured the courses. Courses are still subjected to availability, vacancies and clashes in timetable.

Upon receipt of your E-Welcome package, you will be given access to the GEM Trailblazer Exchange/Study Abroad Portal. In this web portal, you will be able to view your list of approved UG courses. You will also be notified on your course approval status via email by the Office of Academic Services (OAS).

If you do not have sufficient courses approved and/or wish to submit more courses for approval, you may do so via the E-Request system. More details can be found on the GEM Trailblazer Exchange/Study Abroad Portal.

Once approved, you are strongly encouraged not to deviate from your list of approved course. It is imperative that you select courses which are approved by your home university, and are deemed necessary for your academic progression. Please also note that only a number of your approved UG courses will be pre-allocated for you during the course registration period. For more courses for exchange students, please see Course Selection.

Please note that the course offering varies from semester to semester. Students must be prepared to be flexible with their study plan if the courses are not offered in the semester, unavailable due to limited capacity and/or not offered to exchange students.

To understand the Course Registration process better, please attend the orientation organised by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) that is usually held 2-3 working days prior to the teaching week.

Graduates (PG)

PG students shall only receive their Letter of Enrolment issued by the Office of Global Education and Mobility (OGEM) upon approval of at least 1 PG course and maximum 5 PG courses. Your list of approved PG courses shall be reflected at the GEM Trailblazer Exchange/Study Abroad Portal.

Approval of the PG courses shall be subjected to the discretion of the offering schools, availability, vacancies and pre-requisites. Students may be required to reselect courses if there is a clash in class/exam timetable.
