Summer Research Internship (SRI) Programme
Welcome to the Summer Research Internship (SRI) Programme website.
The Summer Research Internship (SRI) Programme is a university wide Research Programme initiated to stimulate a culture of research for the overseas undergraduates, where participants for this programme are able to develop research interest, strong sense of cross-cultural intelligence, gain a network of friends and a better understanding of our nation.
Eligible overseas undergraduate students will be given an allowance, and they are expected to fulfill a 8-week research attachment comprising project work at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), as well as the presentation of their research project at a closing ceremony. All participants will receive a certificate issued by NTU upon the completion of the programme.
The Summer Research Internship (SRI) Programme 2014 will run from 03 June 2014 to 25 July 2014. Students will be required to submit an internship report and prepare a poster at the end of the SRI programme.
* Open to NEW students who have not been to Singapore previously.
* Open to all nationalities who are currently full-time students in an overseas university.
* Applicants preferably studying in these countries:
- Middle East
- South Korea and Japan
* Students have to commit to an internship period of two months (8 weeks).
* Applicants must possess good academic track records.
* Applicants must have completed a certain number of semesters in their overseas universities by the time they attend the
i. Applicants who are in a 3-year Bachelor programme must have completed 4 semesters in their study, or
ii. Applicants who are in a 4-year Bachelor programme must have completed 6-8 semesters of study, or
iii. Applicants who are in a direct Masters programme must have completed 8 to 10 semesters of study
The SRI grant is tenable only for the duration of the programme at NTU. Each grant shall cover the following:
* Tuition fees
* One-time allowance of up to SGD3,000
Notes for International Students
International applicants are advised to look up important information such as the pre-departure checklist, immigration, accommodation, cost of living, emergency hotlines, insurance, etc. Or you may refer to the International Student Centre website, where the pre-departure Guide book for International Students my be found.
Accommodation within the campus will be allocated and will be deducted from your stipend regardless of your length of stay. You may also source for your own accommodation, e.g. renting of rooms outside the campus. For this, you will need to keep us informed.
Training Employment Pass OR Student Pass
All international students are required to obtain a valid Immigration Pass issued by the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in order to participate in the SRI Programme.
An Entry Visa is required of international students from some countries for entry into Singapore. For more information, please visit the Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website. More detail will be given by the choice of your school to short-listed applicants.

The online application portal will open from 19 August 2013 to 8 November 2013. Applicants are advised to complete their online applications and mail their hard-copy applications and supporting documents before 8 November 2013 to Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. We regret that late applications could not be processed.

The outcome will be announced in April 2014 via the SRI website - SRI Announcement. Successful applicants will be notified by their choice of School. All future correspondences with you will be through your choice of School.
