Please note that there are new changes that are to be implemented in the August, 2009 intake.
1. Indemnity Form
This form is to be completed by ALL participants who wish to go overseas on an INSTEP exchange. If this form is not completed, your exchange will be revoked. This form will be sent to you after the second round (when all placements have been allocated) and you will have one week to submit it to our office....details will be included in the email when you receive the form.
You cannot scan the document and send to us as we will need the original signature. Please note that anyone who is under the age of 21 MUST have their parent/guardian sign it as well.
2. Application procedure
Starting in the August, 2009 intake, when you apply online, you will be able to see ALL Host Universities - even the Host Universities that are not applicable to you and your NTU school. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that he/she only applies for a Host University that is applicable to them. Please refer to the INSTEP brochure for this information.
Should a student apply for a Host University that is not applicable to him/her, their choice will be forfeited. INSTEP does not make any changes to your application form AFTER you have submitted it so please be very careful with applying.
3. Accept/Reject - after you get an offer in First Round
If you are fortunate to receive a placement in the INSTEP round one, you will have only two choices:
1. Accept
2. Reject and withdraw from INSTEP. I understand that I am NOT eligible for second round. I also understand that I may apply in future intakes without prejudice. No further follow up is required.
If you applied for a Host University, it is assumed that you have thoroughly researched the Host and you are committed to taking the offer should you get it. Please use COURSEFINDER to help you with your courses and please consult with your NTU exchange coordinator.
Do not apply for a Host University if you are not willing to take it. Do not feel that you have to apply for five (5) Host Universities if you do not want to. This is given as an option. Only apply for what you are sure you will accept. Please note that students are often given their 4th or 5th choice so know that it is a real possibility that you may get yours.
Should you reject the Host University that you applied for in the First Round, you will NOT be eligible for Second Round. You will have to wait until the next INSTEP intake to apply but there is no guarantee that you will recieve a placement then.
